This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was delivered new to Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad, California, and it is said to have remained in the care of its original owner until it was acquired by the current owner in December 2020. It is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over black leather. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a black soft top, a removable hardtop, chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, fog lights, a Kenwood CD stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. This R107 shows 29k miles and is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a convertible soft top. Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim.
Chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Defender T+H tires that show date codes from 2020. The car was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The idler arm bushings, left tie rod assembly, and center drag link were replaced in October 2016.
The two bucket seats are upholstered in black leather, and interior amenities include an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, a Kenwood stereo, and automatic climate control.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 29k miles.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. The right valve cover gasket was replaced in June 2020, and an oxygen sensor was changed in April 2017. The spark plugs, air filter, and air injection filter were replaced in October 2016.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad, California, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $52,750.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in California.
